The origin of the name Zwettie

Zwettie is the nickname of Roos Zwetsloot, Olympic & SLS- skateboarder and co-founder of Zwettie. A handmade and sustainable collection of bracelets for both men and women, for both skaters and non-skaters.

When Roos started Instagram in 2012, Zwetsloot seemed to be hard to pronounce in the, mostly English orientated, skateboard scene. That’s why her Instagram name became @rooszwettie and her nickname soon became Zwettie. The name is short and easy to pronounce in Dutch and English. The choice for Zwettie as a brand name for Roos her handmade bracelet collection was quickly made.
